Sermon Description: This week we’ll explore both meanings of that title: How do we sustain ourselves in loving over the long haul, when burnout and compassion fatigue seem so common? And do we perceive something larger than us that sustains us, perhaps called Love? On February 5, we heard the poet Rumi’s words that “there are hundreds of ways to kneel and kiss the ground,” and we’ll be taking a similarly diverse approach to love this week. Love encompasses our roles in families and relationships, as well as work, service, advocacy, and community. We’ll talk about not only how we sustain those roles, but also how they sustain us.
