Cultivating Compassion
October 5: “The Calling of Compassion” with Rev. Drew Moeller
Compassion is often thought of as a noble personal trait. It is also a useful life skill that can be learn and developed time. While most of us are warm to the concept of compassion there are also many misconceptions. Join us are Rev. Drew shares his perspectives on compassion through the lens of his UU, Buddhist, and Humanist, Religious Naturalist perspectives.

October 12: “Getting Halfway to Tribal Sovereignty” with Rev. Mark Worth

Indigenous People’s Day is Monday October 13, and Mark will be reflecting on the progress that has been made, and is yet to be made, toward sovereignty for Maine’s tribes.
Rev. Mark Worth is Minister Emeritus of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Ellsworth, and has served UU congregations in Ellsworth and Castine, ME, and Westborough and Harvard MA. He was also a Representative in the Maine Legislature, 2022-2024.

In the spiritual realm, we often talk about the unearned gifts of life and the creator that come to us as being “Grace.” But what happens when “Grace” becomes expectation, and expectations lead to judgment of self and others? Come explore Rev. Drew’s emerging theology of “Sufficient Grace.”
