Worship Service – “UU the Vote: Boldly Engaging Our Values”
“UU the Vote: Boldly Engaging Our Values”
Unitarian Universalists are called to engage and inform our actions with faith and love. The 2020 election is vital to ensuring that justice, equity and compassion are present in our relationships with one another, with the planet, and with all the beings who share that planet with us. Voting is both a faithful and moral action for Unitarian Universalists. Democracy and the right of all people to share their voice is at the heart of our Seven Principles. During this service Jean Adamson will briefly lay out the historical story of voting in the United States with particular attention to the Voting Rights Act of 1965 and Tracy Haskell will share inspiration and ideas from the UUA’s UU the Vote campaign to keep your social justice energy flowing!
This week’s service will be led by Jean Adamson and Tracy Haskell, with Laurie Cartier as our technical coordinator. Music will be provided by returning guest musician Garrett Artman.
