Worship Service – January 1, 2023
10:00 AM - 11:00 AM120 Park St, Bangor, ME
~ Hymn Sing ~
Join John Arimond for a wonderful service of an on-demand hymn sing from our hymnals – or try to “stump the musician” with an outside request!! This abbreviated Worship Service will end with an opportunity to move into the Dorothy for additional music (not streamed to Zoom) to start the New Year with a chance to be of Service to UUSB with a fun sprucing up of the Dorothy Memorial to prepare for upcoming services and events. See below for information on the cleanup after the service
This service will be led by Laurie Cartier, John Arimond, and Atticus Foster as our worship team.
Join the Zoom Meeting with meeting code 971 2997 9372 and passcode 414477.
For those attending in person: Please be aware that we are sending a live feed to Zoom every Sunday. If you do not want to be in this live feed, please avoid the center of the sanctuary so you are not in view of the camera. After the service, we edit the recording to eliminate the Candles of Joys and Concerns and then we are posting the service to our Website. Please contact Laurie Cartier if you have any questions about our procedures.
For the most current CDC recommendations relating to COVID-19, please visit their website.
Worship Service – 10:00 AM EST
Every Sunday, we share half of our undesignated plate offerings with an organization that works toward our UU values. In January, half of the undesignated funds in the plate will go to the UUSB Food Security Programs. This includes the Bean Suppers that we host on the fourth, and fifth, Saturdays each month; our donation to the Soup Kitchen at the Salvation Army, in lieu of making lunches during the pandemic; and our Bag Lunch program, to give lunches for those attending our Bean Suppers.
We have added an option to give online through Vanco. You can give a one-time gift or set up your recurring pledge, by scanning the QR code to the right or visiting https://bit.ly/2x6uhaP. You can also find this option on our website, uubangor.org.
New Year’s Cleanup: Dorothy Memorial Hall
After the service on January 1st, we’ll be sprucing up the Dorothy Memorial. People who are interested in helping out should contact either Laurie Cartier or Suzanne Kelly.
The Guild has already done an incredible job of beautifying and updating the Dorothy Hawkes Memorial Quilt. There are undoubtedly other things that people can think up to add to the list.
As a “service” extension of our Sunday service, there will be music to continue our Hymn Sing Sunday. We look forward to spending time together in service to our beloved building and preparing for our upcoming Interfaith MLK Service later this month.
