10:00 AM - 11:30 AMZoom
~ Turning to One Another ~
This Sunday, July 11th, we return to our Annual Charlie Howard Memorial Service. Our guest in the virtual pulpit this year is Jennifer L. Thompson, Interim Executive Director of HEAL (Health Equity Alliance) of Bangor. With our service theme of “Turning to One Another,” Jennifer will share with us the work and mission and compassionate caring for the LGBTQ+ community philosophy of this organization and our collective spiritual call to care for all those in need and with health crises.
This service will be led by Jennifer L. Thompson and Phyllis Havens as our worship associate, with special music by Linda Koehler, Rissa Moore, and Colleen Fizgerald, and Jennifer Rodriguez as our Zoom tech.
Grab a coffee and get comfy with our comm-UU-nity!
After the service, we will have “coffee hour.”
To join this Zoom service, please subscribe to our newsletter on our Facebook page or by emailing uubangor@gmail.com.
~ Charlie Howard Memorial Walk ~
This Sunday after the service we will gather at UUSB for the annual walk to the bridge in honor of Charlie Howard. We will drop flowers from the bridge in honor of Charlie. Please come and join us.
We will gather at 11:45 and start walking at 12:00. Bring flowers if you want but we will provide some, including the white rose that his mother requested. If walking down the hill is a challenge for you, you are invited to meet us at the State Street bridge just after noon.
Contact Linda Koehler or Rissa Moore with questions.
~ Share the Plate ~
This month, half of the undesignated funds in our plate collection will go to support Health Equity Alliance (HEAL). Their mission is to create a world in which all people are valued and celebrated and health disparities such as HIV, Hepatitis C, and AIDS-related deaths are nonexistent. They facilitate collaboration, education, advocacy, and action for marginalized communities to improve their health and well-being and affect social and cultural change.
