Service Description: In our time, many institutions have put intentional energy into acknowledging the tribal lands upon which Indigenous people once lived but are now occupied by white colonial society. This well-intentioned practice has positive aspects, but some are not as well received by Indigenous people. Today, we will look at the practices of land acknowledgments and how creating a land acknowledgment could be helpful or harmful to our efforts to support tribal sovereignty for the Wabanaki people here in Maine by putting Love at the center.
