Services – January 2026

Practicing Resistance

January 4: “Sorting Out the Bone” with Rev. Drew Moeller

Moving into the new year, this service will invite participants to reflect on the past year and do some ‘spiritual housekeeping’ – What do we wish to keep from the past year? What we want to let go of as we enter into 2026. This service will include a dissolution ritual.

This week’s worship team is: Rev. Drew Moeller, Kat Allen, Sue McKay, and Atticus Foster. Music will be provided by Sojourner Crowley.

January 11: “Resistance & Surrender” with Rev. Drew Moeller

One of the inconvenient truths of the spiritual and natural world is that we are not in control. More often than not, forces we may not understand unfold and shape patterns in our lives. Today, we will explore the flip side of practicing resistance and examine the spiritual effort of practicing surrender.

Please note: After the service we will have an open-air chimes concert and food collection for the Ecumenical Food Cupboard.

This week’s worship team is: Rev. Drew Moeller, Bill Steele, Hannah Wunderli, and Atticus Foster. Music will be provided by the UUSB Choir and Sojourner Crowley.

January 18: “MLK Remembrance Sunday” with Rev. Drew Moeller

In honor of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King’s Birthday our service will focus on the ongoing work of our congregation efforts of working towards greater inclusion and diversity.

This week’s worship team is: Rev. Drew Moeller, Hannah Wunderli, Phyllis Havens, and Atticus Foster. Music will be provided by the UUSB Choir and Sojourner Crowley.

January 25: “Artistic Activism” with Laurie Sproul

On January 25, our guest in the pulpit will be Laurie Sproul. Laurie is a skilled wood sculptor and speaks frequently at UU churches on Art Activism. . . using art to speak to and give voice to messages of social justice. She and her husband, Mike, are also talented musicians and will be providing the music for this special service as well.

Join us to bear witness to how using our individual talents and skills can make a difference.
