Join us on Sunday after the service to learn about Referendum 1 and how to get the word out to family and friends to Vote NO on Referendum 1. If passed, it will change Maine election laws to eliminate two days of absentee voting, prohibit requests for absentee ballots by phone or family members, end ongoing absentee voter status for seniors and people with disabilities, ban prepaid postage on absentee ballot return envelopes, limit the number of drop boxes, require voters to show certain photo ID before voting, and make other changes to our elections.
Take a postcard or 2 and write a personal message to someone you know to encourage them to Vote No on 1 on November 4. We will have supplies to write your message as well as postage if you want to mail your postcard. We hope to make this an ongoing effort each Sunday until election day.
Ron Bilancia, a volunteer and coordinator with the No On One Campaign, will speak from 11:30 -11:45. He will inform us about the origins of the effort to restrict voter access and fill us in on the details of the campaign to combat it. As usual, bring your questions and concerns.
