~ Water Communion ~
with Rev. Drew Moeller
Water is the universal substance that supports all life as we know it. In keeping with our UUSB Tradition, we will kick off our new program year with our annual ritual of Water Communion. Everyone attending is encouraged to bring a sample of water from a place they found spiritual connection or wisdom over the summer.
Join the Zoom Meeting with meeting code 965 7817 0239 and passcode 666892.
If you wish to contribute your water to our communal bowl, please bring it with you on Sunday. Alternatively, you can drop off your water sample in a designated bucket outside the Dorothy Memorial entrance. The drop-off period is between Friday, September 6, and noon on Saturday, September 7. Please remember to include a note with your water sample, as it will be read during the Sunday service.
East – representing the element of air – that gently encourages spiritual growth, intelligence, and a gentile force for change.
South – representing the element of fire and wisdom that comes from learnings that come from difficulties, turmoil, struggle, and suffering.
West – representing the element of earth and movement, intuition, visions of things that yet may be, and dreams and memories that have gone by.
North – representing water and the attributes of profound wisdom that come from being centered, grounded, and aware of our interconnection to all things.
Every Sunday, we share half of our undesignated plate offerings with an organization that works toward our UU values. In September, half of the undesignated funds in the plate will go to Partners for Peace. Partners for Peace works to end domestic violence in Penobscot and Piscataquis Counties. They provide support, advocacy, and safety planning to anyone affected by domestic abuse. They foster safe and healthy relationships through prevention, education, and training. Together with our community, they recognize the nature of abuse, respond to it, and change the conditions which lead to it. You can learn more at www.partnersforpeaceme.org.
We have an option to give online through Vanco. You can give a one-time gift or set up your recurring pledge, by scanning the QR code to the right or visiting https://bit.ly/2x6uhaP. You can also find this option on our website, uubangor.org.
